Leader Spotlight: Allie Veil

Hello everyone! It is such an honor to be in leadership for Spoke Folk. I love Spoke Folk because it is so unique and amazing! I’ve never seen a ministry connect so many people so quickly and I love how deep you grow with God through tour. I am truly humbled to be part of it.

So…here’s a little about me…

I am a Minnesota girl through and through. For a few years I lived in Wisconsin for college, but Minnesota has always been my home, so back I went. I have a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Graphic Design. Needless to say arts and crafts are a passion of mine.

I currently help lead a sewing team at our church through the Days for Girls organization, which help women and girls receive reusable feminine hygiene kits. Sewing continues to be a growing love of mine, not only because I can use it to help others, but it also fuels my introvert time.

Of course, my faith is a huge part of my life. I grew up in a faith filled home and regularly went to church. Like everyone, I have had ups and downs in life. I have had questions. I have been confused. Life isn’t always easy. But through the craziness and unknown I find comfort and rest in God. He is always my rock.

Another big thing to me is family! I met Ryan just after high school and was married at 21. He’s the best and I am so lucky! We have a beautiful daughter, Savannah who is almost two (that’s crazy!) and we are expecting a baby boy sometime mid November. I love being a mom and pray they grow up to be grounded in their faith. And who knows, maybe future Spoke Folkers!

For work, I feel like I am the luckiest person in the world. 3 days a week I get to be a stay-at-home mom. The other 2 days, I get to work with my hubby! I currently do graphic design for his wedding/media company. Because of Studio Veil, we have the flexibility and resources to run Spoke Folk. My roles for Spoke Folk consist of graphic design and admin roles like registration, blog, newsletter, bookkeeping and website. It’s funny; I used to work for our church as an admin, and specifically worked with the youth ministries. I feel like that job has equipped me for these Spoke Folk roles.

Other things that sum me up: Musicals, Christmas, chocolate, pink and I Love Lucy.

So blessed to have you and Ryan carry on the legacy that LYE started and Eric and Hilary kept growing!
