What to do Off Tour by Abby Schiwitz

After tour ends, one of the biggest things I struggle with is figuring out what to do with myself. I often find myself looking for ways to continue strengthening my faith and to keep spreading the word. Here are a few things that I like to do off tour that you can try out to keep your spiritual high going strong.

  • The Habits- prayer, D.R., 5 minutes, Bible

  • Find a book about faith to read and study

  • Verse of the day devo- the Bible app sends out a verse of the day every day, and I love making a little devo out of it by unpacking the verse.

  • Find a D.R. at home- It’s always super impactful and insightful to be able to have someone to talk to about faith, what you’re struggling with, how your relationship with God is, etc.

  • Join a Bible study/youth group- also super helpful for answering questions you have about your faith. If you can’t find one that you like, maybe consider starting your own with a few friends.

  • Watch videos about faith on youtube- Sadie Robertson has some that I like a lot. (https://youtu.be/syPL8TvtT8Q)

  • Start a devo plan to go through on the Bible app- the Bible app has a wide variety of different devo plans that you can try out.

  • Make a playlist of some of your favorite Christian music- I love to listen to worship music while I’m reading my Bible and doing Bible studies.

  • Leave Bible verses on sticky notes at public places that you go to- this is a super easy way to spread the word, and all it takes is a sticky note and a pen!

  • Ask people how they’re doing spiritually- this is another easy way to open up conversations about faith with friends, family, and strangers.

These are just a few ideas that I have tried out and that have helped me to continue growing in my faith. Spoke Folk has provided us with an opportunity to learn and practice how to be missionaries in our daily lives, and we shouldn’t let that end when tour does. “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” – 2 Timothy 2:2-3. We are expected to not only grow in our faith but to extend that knowledge to others as well. We are called to live our life for the Lord and to be disciples that make disciples who make disciples.
